The three properties are adjacent to each other and, in reality, are managed as one farm. There is no fencing separating the three farms’ boundaries from each other, and they have a shared jackal-proof perimeter fence. General overview - the properties are located in the Tankwa Karoo, approximately 80 km from Calvinia. Traditionally, the farms were used for sheep production on its expansive veld; however, the two farms are known in this region for possessing some of the strongest sources of underground water. This strong underground water source, coupled with expansive, flat arable, very fertile soil with plenty of room for expansion, makes it ideal for crop production. The farm currently produces lucerne, Medjool dates, and has production contracts with Klein Karoo Saad for onion seed production.

The farm’s climate is ideal for seed production as it has hot, dry, rain-free summers and mild frost-free winters due to its low elevation - only approximately 350m above sea level.

Property 1: Farm 1202 (Size: 4068.73 ha)
Description of terrain: Mixed terrain which includes a part of the Elandsberg, Blinkvleipan, koppies, grazing veld, and clay soil.

Farming Production
• 10 hectares of established lucerne pastures (currently used for high-quality lucerne hay and seed production)
• Plans are in place to expand the seed onion production (that is happening on the adjacent property) to this property as well, and there is an abundance of available water and flat, open land
• 2 boreholes producing 165 m3 (combined) per hour to irrigate lucerne and future seed onion production. Both boreholes are fitted with newly installed solar-powered pumps and solar arrays for off-grid irrigation
• The existing water use license is in place
• 1 lucerne barn (9m wide x 18m long x 4.5m high)
• 1 Water reservoir
• The outer veld is divided into camps with kraals and water points strategically placed. There are boreholes in the veld that provide sufficient water for livestock production.

• A drip irrigation system for the current 4 ha Medjool plantation is in place, as well as an additional 4 hectare section for expansion – full irrigation framework (piping) for future expansion is already installed.
• Borehole producing 50m3 per hour fitted with a solar-powered pump and solar array for off-grid irrigation.
• Water rights in place (GA)
• Newly erected 12m wide x 36m long x 4.5m high storage and onion seed drying barn.
• Plans for 16 ha onion seed production, in place of which 8 ha of irrigation is already installed.
• We currently have an onion seed production contract with Klein Karoo Seed for the production of 3ha of onions.

• The main soil type is typical Karoo soil.
