STELLENBOSCH: Wine grapes | Location | Possibilities

The farm occupies an elevated position and covers an area of 42,7 ha outside Stellenbosch towards Somerset West. This prime farming neighbourhood offers beautiful views over the rural and scenic countryside and features ample water as well as excellent soil for conducting a wide range of agricultural activities. Currently the land has been improved with 18 ha of a good mix of traditional wine grape cultivars of which 12 ha is under irrigation and 6 ha is dryland.
A total harvest of 100 tons was recorded for the 2015/16 production season. Grapes are delivered to the Stellenbosch Hills Winery for which a 250 ton cellar shares quota exists. Arable land of approximately 10 ha could be used for future cultivation. At present a number of cattle is kept on some open pasture land.
The inside of the 4 bedroom main house (with an entertainment area and swimming pool) has been beautifully renovated recently. Other infrastructure consists of 2 flats, 2 sheds, 7 labourer cottages, 2 dams and a borehole. Water rights from the Eerste River supply water to the 1 dam (which is jointly used by the neighbouring farm as per agreement), while the other dam higher up is built in a kloof and catches winter run-off water.
This farm offers superb untapped potential, waiting to be explored. Cellar shares and farming equipment are included in the deal.
