Jongensfontein at a glance

Jongensfontein is one of South Africa’s best kept secrets with spectacular views, pristine beaches and is a popular fishing destination.  It is a small town which makes it exclusive, boasts with natural tidal swimming pools for children and not to mention that it is a pollution-free environment and a safe and peaceful haven.  If you are looking to experience fresh sea air, exhilarating walks along our beautiful coast line or picturesque sunsets over the ocean, then look no further.  Whale watching from July to November is always a highlight with vantage points photographers dream about.

A 9-hole golf course is available. A cute old museum, itself a historical landmark, is situated next to the swimming beach.  It displays the rich history of Jongensfontein and serves as the local info centre.  This stone house, also known as Fonteinhuisie, was built in 1940  with stones collected along the coastline.  Buildings like Fonteinhuisie were prevalent in early Jongensfontein.
